Tour de France in Ravenna – Useful information

During the second stage from Cesenatico to Bologna, on Sunday 30th June the Tour de France will ride through Ravenna.

The riders participating in the most important international cycling event will ride through Ravenna around 1/1.30 pm, but the entire route will be closed to vehicle traffic from the early morning, to allow the passing of the vehicles preceding the riders and the placement of road signs and necessary protection and security measures.

ROUTE

The Tour de France will enter the territory of the Municipality of Ravenna in Savio. The route – from south to north – will touch Fosso Ghiaia, Classe, Ponte Nuovo, the city, Fornace Zarattini and San Michele, along the following roads: via Romea sud (from the bridge on the Savio river to the crossroads with statale 16 Adriatica); strada statale 16 Adriatica; via Romea sud from the junction towards Classe until Ponte Nuovo; rotonda Gran Bretagna; via Romea; rotonda Grecia; via Romea; via Cesarea; via di Roma; via Sant’Alberto; circonvallazione San Gaetanino; via Maggiore; via Faentina; rotonda Svizzera; via Faentina; rotonda Spagna; via Faentina; rotonda dei Fornasari; via Faentina; rotonda Andorra; via Faentina; rotonda di San Michele; via Faentina nord.

CLOSED ROADS

  • From the bridge on the Savio river along via Romea Sud and Statale 16 Adriatica, until the junction towards Classe: closed to vehicle traffic from 9 am to 2 pm ;
  • Roadway through Classe, Ponte Nuovo, via Romea, via Cesarea, via di Roma, via Sant’Alberto, Circonvallazione San Gaetanino, via Maggiore, via Faentina, Fornace Zarattini (until the junction with the highway: closed to vehicle traffic from 8 am to 2.30 pm;
  • After Fornace Zarattini, along via Faentina, until San Michele: closed to vehicle traffic from 9 am to 2.30 pm.

HOW TO REACH THE BEACH TOWNS

The northern beach towns (Casalborsetti, Marina Romea, Porto Corsini) and the central ones (Marina di Ravenna, Punta Marina Terme, Lido Adriano) will be regularly reachable.

Strada statale 16 Adriatica will be open southwards (with the exception of the exit on strada provinciale 253 via Faentina) until the exits on E45, on via Dismano and on Classicana (strada statale 67).

Lido di Dante will be reachable from Lido Adriano through ponte Bailey or from Classicana (strada statale 67), via Montebello and via Marabina.

If you have to reach the southern beach towns (Lido di Classe and Lido di Savio), we highly suggest you to do it in the early morning or in the afternoon, after the reopening of the roads.

After the jucntion with Classicana, statale 16 Adriatica will be closed to vehicle traffic until Cervia; if you have to go to Cervia, you will be diverted to E45, and will be able to go back on statale 16 through provinciale 254.

HOW TO REACH MIRABILANDIA

From the early morning of Sunday 30th June, the amusement park Mirabilandia won’t be reachable from statale 16 Adriatica. For more information on detours and alternative routes, check out the map.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTS

To allow the passage of the riders, routes 1, 3, 4, 18, 70, 149, 156, 176 of the public transport service (bus) will be interrupted or suspended. For more information: www.startromagna.it.

PARKING

Parking won’t be allowed along the entire route from 8 pm on Saturday 29th June to 4 pm on Sunday 30th June.
