SAVIO/MIRABILANDIA is a little district of Ravenna, located by the homonymous river between Ravenna and Milano Marittima, near the pine forest of Classe.
In this place are the amusement park Mirabilandia, the biggest in Italy, with many attractions and live performances, and Safari Ravenna, a zero-impact natural area with many animal species to see up close.
Moreover, in Savio is the Villaggio delle Cicogne (the Stork Village), an equipped area you can visit on your own, in which live a multitude of bird species and mammals, free and perfectly integrated in the surrounding territory. The star is of course the white stork, to which the park itself owes its name.
Unmissable is the Dedalo labyrinth, the biggest corn maze in Europe that covers a 10-hectare wide area.
From Savio/Mirabilandia depart a series of paths that cross the pine forest of Classe, touching the green area of Parco 1° Maggio and then reaching some places of interest, such as the Bevano river mouth. There are so many paths to walk, like the Querce di Dante, an itinerary of 4 km.
If you love water sports, all the area is full of surprises. There is Mirabeach, the water park of Mirabilandia with sun beds and umbrellas, fine sand, swimming pools and water slides; then, there is the artificial lake Lago della Standiana, frequented by fishermen, sportsmen and canoers; lastly, at the lake Lago Delle Ghiarine you can practice water skiing and wakeboard.
It’s very simple to reach Ravenna and admire the astonishing mosaics and the Unesco monuments. Moreover, from Savio/Mirabilandia you can easily reach the nearby city of arts, and, through the state route Adriatica (SS16), heading south, you will find the seaside towns of Cervia, Milano Marittima, Cesenatico and Rimini.
The whole territory is a chest of naturalistic wonders you can discover departing from the Visitor Centres of the Po Delta Park, but it also offers attractions and entertainment for families, like the big amusement park of Mirabilandia and the Safari Ravenna.
