A whole day on two wheels to admire unexpected natural areas.
A total of 70 km, an elevation gain of 200 m and 32 km of gravel road.
The itinerary starts from the centre of Ravenna, Piazza del Popolo, which is the first essential stop to discover the city and prepare for the artistic and monumental history and the natural environment surrounding it.
Already at the beginning of the route, you will admire incredible places steeped in history, such as the Arian Baptistery, the Rocca Brancaleone fortress and the Mausoleum of Theodoric; seen as you ride around, they seem to take on a new aspect.
After the first 6 km in the city, you ride along Via Sant’Alberto up to a ferry boat allowing you to cross the canal and end up in front of the stunning Lagoons of Comacchio. Here, you will see many species of birds in their natural habitat: discover them thanks to the information panels with photos along the route.
Ride east along the wetlands on a gravel road and then turn south towards Fattoria Guiccioli, the house where Anita Garibaldi died.
From here, go on towards Casalborsetti and Marina Romea, and then go back to Ravenna along Pialassa della Baiona.
