From Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd June, Ravenna hosts the 3rd edition of COCONINO FEST, the festival of the Coconino Press publishing house, celebrating comics in relationship with other languages and forms of expressions, such as music, novels, videos and theatre.
The title of this year’s edition is FREEDOM!, honouring the freedom of telling and living exciting stories in the name of contemporary language.
The programme of the festival features a rich calendar of meetings with the authors who realised the works on display, other cartoonists and famous artists that will give life to a series of special events, shows, readings, live painting performances and to the great final party on the beach of Hana-bi in Marina di Ravenna.
On the occasion of the festival and until 28th July, the MAR – Ravenna Art Museum hosts Freedom. Sette sguardi d’autore: geografie e generazioni del fumetto, with seven sections dedicated to Gipi, Usamaru Furuya, Valentine Cuny-Le Callet, Anke Feuchtenberger, Filippo Scòzzari, Antonio Pronostico and other young artists published by Coconino: Enrico Pinto, Michele Peroncini, SPAM Il Mandarino Psichico and Isabella Tiveron.
This year, Coconino Fest also lands in the Classense Library with an exhibition of Pietro Scarnera’s original drawings of Viaggio in Italia, visible from 15th June to 13th July.
