From June 16th to July 21th, the noble spaces of Palazzo Rasponi dalle Teste in Ravenna will host DUSCIANA BRAVURA. LE METAMORFOSI DEGLI OGGETTI E DELLE IMMAGINI, a monographic exhibition curated by Linda Kniffitz and Paolo Trioschi, which stands as a preview of the ninth edition of the Mosaic Biennial 2025.
In the six rooms on the first floor there is a selection of works that illustrate the Ravenna artist’s 30-year career: a first room dedicated to portraits and zoomorphic creatures in mosaic microtessels, including “Unicorn,” already present in the Contemporary Mosaics Collection of the Mar – Ravenna Art Museum, the guiding image of the exhibition.
To the central rooms are dedicated large works such as unicellular organisms with explosions of color of long spinning tesserae, painted and mosaic panels, forming an imaginary catalog of serial archetypal forms; or direct metamorphoses that invest everyday objects, vases and containers with meaning, all strictly in glass or crystal but recovered in a pop key.
In the video room, an unprecedented visual narration led by Dusciana and introduced by the narration of the work Alchhemy leads into the anthological journey of these astonishing years of the artist’s activity.
The last room is dedicated to a “site-specific” work: a large bird with plumage rich in colorful microdots, one of Dusciana’s dazzling artificial animals.
