From April 6th to June the 2nd, the MAR – Ravenna Art Museum will host a new exhibition entitled DISEGNARE IL MOSAICO. LA COLLEZIONE DEI CARTONI DELLA FAMIGLIA SIGNORINI.
The exhibition brings together a vast collection of cartoons for mosaic, exhibited for the first time in Italy and created by Renato Signorini and his workshop, constituting a part of the archive generously donated by his heirs to the Ravenna State Academy of Fine Arts.
Renato Signorini, a former pupil, teacher and later director of the Mosaic School from 1935 to 1976, left a significant legacy in the history of mosaic, which adds to an already important nucleus of cartoons.
This exhibition marks the start of a series of initiatives dedicated to the Centennial of the Mosaic School of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Ravenna.
