From 2nd to 30th September, the Classense Library of hosts CITY. OPERE 2002-2013, an exhibition of Antonio Marchetti curated by Virginia Cardi, Alberto Giorgio Cassani and Umberto Palestini.
Marchetti (Pescara 1952 – Rimini 2013) was a very creative and multifaceted artist, who was able to mix art and thought, and who carried on an intense work of research on themes and languages.
The artist has addressed the theme of the city, entrusting the investigation of a urban imagery to the intelligence of his hands. In City, suburban environments, metropolitan scenes, factories and catastrophes take shape. Marchetti depicts the places of living, putting at the centre the skyline of a 20th century to revisit and the deconstructed and disorienting cities of our times.
