Tina Modotti. L’umano fervore

Palazzo Rasponi 2
17 December 2021 - 20 February 2022
Every day except Monday

Tina Modotti is one of the main photographers of the first half of the 20th century. Her work is on display from December 17th to February 20th in the exhibition halls of Palazzo Rasponi2 (PR2).

The exhibition, curated by Silvia Camporesi and the Tina Modotti Committee, features a collection of photos documenting the photographer’s career – short but full of extraordinary works.

The exhibition begins with the famous “Calle” (callas) from 1924 and the works produced as a result of the fellowship with Edward Weston up to the elegy to the humbles, through images of children, men and women in Tehuantepec, Mexico, in the midst of a beautiful and devastating humanity.

The exhibition also features portraits by Edward Weston, biographical documents, manuscripts and reflections outlining the profile of an all-round, transparent artist with dazzling intuitions, a unique talent and a deep attention directed to the core of beauty and the cruelty of the world.
