From June 28th to July 28th 2024, the Via Zirardini Open-Air Gallery will host “UN SECOLO DI CICLISMO A RAVENNA”, an exhibition that aims to rediscover and celebrate the history of cycling in Ravenna from 1892 to the present.
The project, conceived and implemented by Comitato Amici del Ciclismo Ravenna, is intended as a “gift” to the city ahead of the historic passage of the Tour de France on June 30th.
Showcased are reproductions of the jerseys of the teams that made the history of cycling in Ravenna, created by illustrator Giuditta Matteucci, who has restored life and color to the historic black-and-white images.
Central is the figure of Guglielmo Malatesta, the first Ravenna native to participate in the Olympics and who also became famous for his tragic story, told in the panel dedicated to him.
At the opening of the exhibition, on Friday June 28th at 9.30 pm, in addition to the presence of Councillor Giacomo Costantini, Councillor Federica Moschini and President of the Comitato Amici del Ciclismo Ravenna Emiliano Galanti, yesterday’s cyclists but also numerous Ravenna athletes from the youth categories will participate.
