The coastal areas around Ravenna are characterised by the presence of wooden BOARDWALKS, allowing everyone to easily access the beach.
The boardwalks are part of the great project of Parco Marittimo, and look like elevated structures over the typical sand dunes, which are thus preserved, offering a solution that protects the environment and promotes a form of tourism that respects and cares for the natural areas.
EASY ACCESS TO THE BEACH
The construction of the boardwalks is the expression of Ravenna’s commitment to a more sustainable and inclusive use of the beaches, which become easily accessible to people with reduced mobility or families with strollers.
The beaches are thus connected to the pine forest and the natural areas behind the dunes. The boardwalks outline the geography of an unexpected environment and ensure the safety of everyone who wants to enjoy the beach areas without damaging a territory unstable as the sandy coastline of the area.
WHERE TO FIND THE BOARDWALKS
The boardwalks of Parco Marittimo can be found in almost all of the 9 beach towns covering the 35-km-long coastline of Ravenna.
Starting from the north, in Casalborsetti you can find a boardwalk allowing an easy access to the beach. Here, the coastal dunes are characterised by an incredible variety of vegetation, which can be crossed without affecting its wild charm thanks to the boardwalk.
Between Marina di Ravenna and Punta Marina Terme, the long elevated boardwalk looks like a boulevard gently and sinously following the coastline, just a few metres away from the pine forest – an ideal solution for walks in every season.
Further to the south, also Lido Adriano, Lido di Dante and Lido di Classe feature an interesting system of boardwalks, allowing you to immerse in the charm of the coast without stepping on plants and shrubs.
