From October 14th, 2023, to January 14th, 2024, as part of the 8th Biennial of Contemporary Mosaic, the first Italian exhibition of the anonymous collective “Pomme de Boue” titled PORTA FUTURISTA will take place in Ravenna.
Curated by Eleonora Savorelli and set up in the evocative spaces of the Molino Lovatelli, the exhibition aims to showcase the group’s most recent works while giving voice to the historical significance of the location for the city of Ravenna.
Reopened for the occasion, the Molino is an important example of industrial archaeology that tells us about the history of water in Ravenna. The Pomme de Boue collective, formed in 2018 and originating from Ukraine, emerged through experimentation with street art in the urban fabric of Kiev, coexisting with mosaics dating back to the Soviet era and contemporary graffiti. Their works, collages of ceramic fragments designed for specific locations, straddle the boundary between art and architecture, deploying juxtapositions of forms and colors with spontaneous and surprising aesthetics.
