In the frame of the 8th Biennial of Contemporary Mosaic, from 14th October 2023 to 14th January 2024 Palazzo Rasponi dalle Teste hosts EPISODI DI MOSAICO CONTEMPORANEO, an exhibition where mosaic and design meet and give life to the production of new and special objects of interior design.
Six designers and creative talents selected by the curator Maria Cristina Didero (Arthur Arbesser, Atelier Biagetti, Cara | Davide, Lanzavecchia + Wai, Gio Tirotto and Marco Guazzini) have designed objects that were then realised in mosaic by workshops in Ravenna: Annafietta, Gruppo Mosaicisti di Marco Santi, Pixel Mosaici in collaboration with Dimensione Mosaico, Koko Mosaico di Arianna Gallo, Barbara Liverani Studio and by the artistic group CaCO3.
Industrial design, technologies of digital 3D printing and shaping of supports, skills and perception typical of the artisanal production of mosaic made of stony glass materials come together and deliver fascinating and original results.
The exhibition also features works by artists that have written the history of design at international level – such as Alessandro Mendini and Gaetano Pesce – and that have bumped into Ravenna between the end of the ’80s and the beginning of the ’90s, opening up a new way for a particularly significant conception of mosaic with a great potential.
